Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using R2Explorer ("the App"), developed by mgcrea ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

R2Explorer is a native macOS application that provides a graphical interface for managing Cloudflare R2 buckets and objects, as well as other S3-compatible storage services. The App connects directly to the Cloudflare R2 API and S3-compatible endpoints using credentials you provide.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using R2Explorer, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use R2Explorer for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
• Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App
• Use the App to violate any applicable laws or regulations

4. Purchase & Payments

R2Explorer is free to download from the Apple App Store. The free tier provides read-only access: you can browse buckets, list objects, and download files. Write operations — uploading, deleting, renaming, creating or deleting buckets, mirroring, and benchmarking — require a one-time in-app purchase ("R2Explorer Pro") of $4.99 (USD). There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges.

• Payment for the Pro unlock is processed and charged by Apple at the time of purchase
• Pro unlocks all write features permanently, on every Mac signed into the same Apple ID (via App Store family sharing where enabled)
• Pricing in other regions may vary based on Apple's local App Store tiers
• If you originally purchased R2Explorer before it transitioned to the free + Pro model, your existing purchase is honored automatically — Pro unlocks on first launch without requiring a second payment

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

5. User Responsibilities

Cloudflare Credentials

You are responsible for the security of your Cloudflare API tokens and S3-compatible credentials. While R2Explorer stores credentials securely in the macOS Keychain, you should:

• Use API tokens with the minimum required permissions
• Never share your API tokens with others
• Revoke tokens immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

Storage Operations

R2Explorer provides the ability to create, modify, and permanently delete buckets and objects in your Cloudflare R2 or S3-compatible storage. You acknowledge that:

• Delete operations may be irreversible — deleted objects may not be recoverable unless versioning is enabled on the bucket
• You are solely responsible for verifying operations before confirming them
• We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from your use of the App

6. Intellectual Property

R2Explorer, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of mgcrea. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

R2Explorer is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• The App will meet your specific requirements
• Results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of R2Explorer.

9. Third-Party Services

R2Explorer interacts with Cloudflare R2 and other S3-compatible services. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for these services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to R2Explorer at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
